UC Davis Medical Center is seeking a Patient Records Abstractor IV to support its Medical Services Abstracting Unit. This non‑clinical Health Information Management role focuses on reviewing EMR documentation, identifying billable services, and assigning accurate CPT, ICD-10‑CM, and HCPCS codes in compliance with federal, state, payer, and teaching physician guidelines.

• Review EMR documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Identify billable services and assign appropriate CPT, ICD-10‑CM, and HCPCS codes.
• Ensure coding complies with federal, state, payer, and teaching physician guidelines.
• Maintain coding quality and accuracy in a high‑volume travel assignment.

• Strong professional fee coding experience.
• Proficiency with Epic and 3M encoder systems.
• Solid knowledge of CPT, ICD-10‑CM, and HCPCS.

• Experience with Surgical Pathology coding.
• Experience with Dermatology outpatient coding.
