Data Modeler with ODI & ADW & OCI

Location:

Sacramento, CA (must live within 60 miles of the office). Hybrid—two days a week in office (Monday & Wednesday).

Required:

Oracle Certification and state/government experience.

• Senior, hands‑on data modeler with strong communication skills.
• Expert level command of ER/STUDIO Data Architect modeling application.
• Ability to articulate data modeling principles and gather requirements from non‑technical business stakeholders.
• Excellent presentation skills for both business and technical audiences, from senior leadership to operational staff, independent of supervision.
• Capacity to translate business and functional requirements into technical specifications for the technical team.
• Must be able to demonstrate, direct and apply recent practical experience with specific examples.

• Perform business and systems analysis and documentation.
• Develop conceptual, logical, and physical relational data models for the enterprise data warehouse.
• Lead large data‑warehouse implementation projects.
• Execute data modeling in both relational and dimensional frameworks.
• Develop and, where appropriate, collaborate on the physical data model.
• Create Data Facts and Dimensions in the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).
• Document and support the Kimball Dimensional Data Modeling Framework as needed.
• Design and visualize the enterprise data‑management framework, defining processes for data planning, acquisition, maintenance, usage, archiving, retrieval, control, and purge.
• Document data‑flow diagrams for existing and future reports to guide report design and optimization.
• Develop Requirements and Design Specifications.
• Perform data analysis and predictive data modeling.
• Mentor and educate team members on best practices and industry standards.

• Minimum 10 years of experience in data management with at least 5 years in database design.
• Minimum 5 years as a data analyst or in related quantitative disciplines (research, data engineering).
• Minimum 5 years of experience with ER/Studio data modeling application.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in relational and dimensional data modeling, statistical analysis, and machine learning.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with stakeholders and team members.
• At least 2 years of experience working with Star, Snowflake, or Hybrid schemas.

• At least 2 years of experience with Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW) installed in an OCI environment.
• Expert level Kimball Dimensional Data Modeling experience.
• Expert level experience developing in Oracle SQL Developer or ER/Studio Data Architect for Oracle.
• Experience performing ETL activities using Oracle tools, PL/SQL or SQL (minimum 2 years). Capable of leading a Oracle data‑warehouse team, including ETL, requirements solicitation, DBA, data‑warehouse administration, and data analysis.
