EY is seeking a Data Architecture Manager in the Life Sciences sector. In this role you will design, develop, govern, and secure data architectures for clinical (R&D) and commercial clients, ensuring scalable and effective solutions that support business objectives.
YourKey Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable data solutions that unify, enrich, and derive insights from diverse data sources across a broad technology landscape.
- Lead projects that align with EY’s strategy, managing timelines, costs, and quality while leading both technical and non‑technical teams.
- Conduct data architecture reviews, improve usability, and develop blueprints for data extraction and basic transformations.
- Organize workshops and design sessions with clients and cross‑functional stakeholders to capture requirements, understand use cases, and align on data strategy.
- Participate in presentations, proposals, and high‑complexity projects, communicating technical solutions to senior client leaders.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Business Leads, Data Scientists, Analysts, IT) to define requirements and implement data strategies.
- Experience with AWS, Databricks, Snowflake, and building data solutions on cloud platforms.
- Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models and perform data design reviews.
- Apply best practices for data integration, platform modernization, and data security (in‑transit and at‑rest).
- Implement standardized practices for delivering new data products using Big Data technologies.
- Mentor junior team members and support professional development.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to explain complex technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
- Flexible, proactive, and self‑motivated with strong problem‑resolution ownership.
- Bachelor’s degree and 10–15 years of full‑time experience in Data Architecture/Engineering.
- 2–4 years of direct technical team management experience.
- At least 2 years working in life‑sciences domains (clinical R&D and commercial).
- Experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks.
- Understanding of big‑data architecture patterns (Lambda, Kappa) and performance benchmarking.
- Proficiency in BI, data analytics databases, and data security best practices.
- Adaptable to new technologies and standards; capable of working under pressure and independently.
- Experience building and managing relationships with clients, fostering trust and value.
- Digital fluency and strong communication with impact.
- Leadership and mentorship experience, encouraging inclusive environments.
- A passion for innovation and strategic application of emerging technologies.
