Senior Technical Automation and Stack Reliability Engineer
The Senior Automation and Stack Reliability Engineer (SASRE) ensures the health, stability, performance, and availability of mission‑critical applications and services. With an automation‑first mindset, the role focuses on three core areas: SDLC automation, execution environment optimization, and incident response.
Responsibilities- Evaluate end‑to‑end SDLC processes to identify automation opportunities.
- Design and implement automated solutions to streamline deployment and infrastructure management.
- Provide guidance to developers and configuration specialists on automation best practices.
- Evaluate runtime performance, define and track KPIs, and integrate monitoring and APM tools.
- Advise on performance and stress testing and recommend structural improvements for reliability.
- Support restoration efforts during production incidents and, with authorization, apply temporary resource adjustments to stabilize systems.
- Experience with the Python programming language.
- Experience applying a metrics‑driven, empirical approach to software performance tuning.
- Experience with a Dev Ops configuration management tool (e.g. Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc.).
- Experience assisting teams to adopt and develop proficiency in new technologies.
- Experience mentoring junior team members.
- Experience in professional or open‑source software development.
- Experience using Docker, Podman, or Kubernetes to develop, deploy, or manage containerized workloads.
- Experience using Red Hat Ansible to automate complex workloads.
- Experience using Ansible Tower and integrating with the Tower REST API to automate workloads.
- Experience using Azure Dev Ops or a comparable tool (e.g. Jenkins) to build CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience deploying and managing workloads on Red Hat Open Shift.
- Experience with the Go programming language.
