Splunk Administrator- GC or USC

Splunk Administrator

USM Business Systems is seeking a Splunk Administrator to configure and manage Splunk, including installation, data inputs and forwarder configuration, data management, user accounts, licenses, distributed search, and basic monitoring and troubleshooting.

The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of experience in systems design and/or programming, configuration work or managing various systems in a multi-platform environment, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in capacity planning and management experience and at least 3 years in a production support role with focus on monitoring, trending, forecasting, log analyzer tools such as Splunk.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure and manage Splunk, including installation, data inputs and forwarder configuration, data management, user accounts, licenses, distributed search, and basic monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Maintain the Splunk Software and its infrastructure for optimal performance.
• Add data sources to the Splunk platform according to Power User needs.
• Assist power users with the development of advanced dashboards, alerting and reporting.

Requirements:

• 7-10 years of experience in systems design and/or programming, configuration work or managing various systems in a multi-platform environment.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in capacity planning and management experience with at least 3 years in a production support role with focus on monitoring, trending, forecasting, log analyzer tools such as Splunk.
• 3+ years’ experience as Splunk System Administrator.
• Advanced experience in complex IT operational environments in various aspects of design, engineering, analysis, testing, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and ongoing support.
