What We’re Looking ForThe Account Manager manages the overall client relationship by providing strategic advice on coverage, risk management, and business needs, ensuring the client’s insurance program aligns with long‑term goals and growth plans. The Account Manager remains knowledgeable of advances in the insurance business and stays abreast of the types of insurance products available.
A Glimpse Into Your Day- Serves as the main point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, providing guidance on coverage changes, and educating clients on policy exclusions and exposures.
- Partners in the strategic development of insurance plans tailored to client needs.
- Acts as field underwriter and authorized representative of carriers to assess and bind coverage.
- Manages the remarketing of renewals to ensure high account retention rates.
- Oversees preparation of client proposals, including submissions, loss evaluations, and risk analyses, ensuring timely and accurate quotations and policies.
- Prepares comprehensive summaries of insurance and schedules, producing binders, certificates, policies, endorsements, and related documents.
- Assists clients in submitting first reports of claims and facilitates prompt carrier response for swift settlements.
- Conducts thorough policy reviews during renewals and audits, verifying accuracy and ensuring necessary corrections are executed.
- Reviews cancellation requests, seeks to retain accounts, and maintains company financial integrity.
- Stays informed about industry developments, new products, legislation, and technology to enhance knowledge and client service.
- Recommends process improvements as needed.
- Quickly resolves complex client service issues.
- Performs other projects, duties, and tasks as assigned.
- Property and Casualty license from state of domicile is required; preference given for designations such as AINS, CIC, CPCU, ARM.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; four‑year degree preferred.
- Minimum five years of account management experience in the insurance industry, focusing on commercial lines.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus or required in some locations.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and PowerPoint presentation skills.
- In-depth understanding of advanced commercial lines and the ability to advise complex client needs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word); computer literate and capable of learning new software.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of insurance markets, products, services, and underwriting procedures.
- Valid driver’s license with ability to travel to client sites.
