Investigator (Permanent, Full‑time).
Location:
Sacramento County. Telework:
In Office.
Salary A: $6,339.00 - $8,558.00; B: $7,306.00 - $10,609.00; C: $6,818.00 - $9,428.00. New State candidates hired at the minimum salary of the classification.
Job Duties- Investigate criminal and administrative employee misconduct at the Department of State Hospitals and the Department of Developmental Services.
- Utilize law‑enforcement databases to obtain police, court, and medical reports.
- Prepare detailed investigative reports; evidence may support legal action.
- Perform the full range of peace‑officer duties in accordance with California Penal Code §830.3(v).
- California Peace Officer Standard and Training BASIC Certificate required; include a copy.
- Valid California Driver’s License.
- Background investigation clearance, medical clearance, and psychological evaluation clearance must be obtained before hire.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in law enforcement or investigative work; associate degree or equivalent (Criminal Justice or related field preferred).
- Knowledge of California Penal Code §830.3(v) and related statutes.
- Background investigation, medical clearance, and psychological evaluation required prior to appointment.
- Conflict of interest code compliance; fingerprinting clearance by the Department of Justice.
