- Provide comprehensive legal advice and counsel to public agencies on various aspects of natural resources law, including water, sewer, and land use.
- Attend and contribute to public meetings, ensuring adherence to good governance law and the promotion of transparent and accountable decision making.
- Develop and implement strategies to address legal and policy issues related to climate change, including adaptation and mitigation efforts.
- Draft and review contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to public finance law.
- Conduct legal research and analysis on a wide range of environmental law issues, providing clear, concise, and practical legal advice.
- Represent public agencies in litigation, administrative proceedings, and negotiations.
- Collaborate with a diverse team of professionals, including engineers, scientists, and other legal experts, to ensure the effective management and protection of natural resources.
- Stay abreast of developments in natural resources law, public finance law, and related areas, and provide training and updates to clients and colleagues as necessary.
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
- Member in good standing with the state bar.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a practicing attorney, with a focus on natural resources law, environmental law, public finance law, and/or related areas.
- Demonstrated experience in attending and contributing to public meetings.
- Proven track record in handling legal matters related to water, sewer, and land use.
- Strong knowledge of climate change issues and the legal and policy responses to these challenges.
- Excellent research, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- High ethical standards and a commitment to promoting good governance and the responsible management of natural resources.
- Ability to handle a high volume of work, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
