Job Summary
Registered Nurses in the OR Pre‑Op PACU department at UC Davis Medical Shepard Center provide care to adult and pediatric patients with a variety of perioperative (medical‑surgical, critical care, emergent, perioperative) needs.
Assistant Nurse Managers are registered nurses who oversee the operation of the nursingിച്ചത് unit for a specific time period. They must possess strong clinical knowledge, organizational skills, and interpersonal abilities to direct nursing tasks and operations, facilitate communication, and ensure quality care.
Three fundamental responsibilities for the Assistant Nurse Manager include planning, coordinating, and evaluating unit nursing activities. Daily tasks involve identifying and implementing nursing interventions, evaluating results, directing the nursing team, promoting compliance with policies, managing patient care plans, delivering direct patient care, training and delegating duties, and ensuring adherence to University policies as well as federal, state, and local regulations.

Qualifications- Valid California Registered Nurse License without restriction
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) or UC Davis Health CPR
- AHA Advanced Card-count (ACLS)
- AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- At least 2 years of critical care experience
- Fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English
- Proficient use of medical terminology
- Knowledge of current nursing trends
- Commitment to excellence in patient care
- Effective interpersonal skills

- Knowledge of legal implications in clinical practice and documentation
- Familiarity with performance improvement and evidence‑based practice

- Physical capacity to safely lift 25 lb and perform extended stand‑ing and walking duties
- CPAN or CCRN certification

The PACU includes 103 adult bays and 24 pediatric bays across four locations. It provides specialized care pre‑ and post‑operatively to patients undergoing varied surgical procedures, ranging from complex trauma to outpatient procedures. The unit serves patients who have received general anesthesia or sedation from ancillary procedure areas.
