Job Title and Summary
Adjunct Community & Mental Health Nursing Clinical Faculty – Sacramento Branch
The School of Nursing and Health Professions seeks to hire part‑time (adjunct) faculty to provide clinical instruction to pre‑licensure students in medical/surgical, geriatrics, pediatrics, obstetrics, or mental health settings. Applicants must hold a current, active, unencumbered California RN license and have at least one year of continuous direct patient‑care experience, or experience as a clinical instructor, within the last five years.
Job Responsibilities- Maintain presence at assigned clinical sites during scheduled instruction, or coordinate remote supervision as outlined in the contract.
- Conduct pre‑shift meetings, mid‑shift huddles, and post‑shift debriefings for students.
- Facilitate student learning by coaching skill development and promoting safe, high‑quality patient care.
- Supervise student groups in the clinical setting as specified.
- Evaluate student performance, provide frequent feedback, and write mid‑term and final performance evaluations.
- Attend departmental, program, and clinical level meetings.
- Travel to clinical sites, which are not located on the USF campus, at least weekly, and at least once per semester.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- Evidence of a primary clinical expertise area and demonstrable teaching skills.
- Continuous direct patient‑care experience in one of the specified areas within the last five years.
- Eligibility for assistant instructor approval by the CA Board of Registered Nursing in one of the specified areas.
- Maintain current RN licensure and AHA Professional Rescuer CPR certification.
- Valid California driver’s license and appropriate immunization records.
Salary
: $2,101 per unit; salary range – note to check if additional details needed.
