Patient Educator Senior Manager; WEST

Vertex Pharmaceuticals seeks a Patient Educator Senior Manager for the Western U.S. to deliver education and resources to patients with sickle cell disease and beta thalassemia, and support awareness of gene therapy. The role is field-based, requiring residency in Los Angeles or San Francisco metro areas.

• Execute commercial strategy and tactical plan within local market in coordination with cross-functional teams
• Deliver group and individual education to patients, caregivers, and advocacy organizations at events and conferences
• Conduct educational needs assessments and provide feedback on existing patient resources and barriers
• Inform marketing strategies and collaborate on development of patient-centered materials
• Maintain compliance documentation and model organizational values in all interactions

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
• 6+ years of relevant clinical care, healthcare, patient education, or biopharmaceutical industry experience
• 2+ years of field-based biopharmaceutical experience preferred
• Knowledge of rare diseases, particularly sickle cell disease or thalassemia, preferred
• Strong presentation and written communication skills with ability to engage diverse audiences
• Demonstrated integrity and commitment to compliance and ethical standards
• Ability to travel up to 70% including weekends; strong digital fluency required
