Applebee's® Assistant Manager
Flynn Group is the largest Applebee’s franchise operator in the world, with over 460 restaurants across 24 states. We are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Manager to lead and motivate a dedicated team.
Responsibilities- Ensure timely, friendly service according to company guidelines and achieve unit objectives.
- Cultivate a culture in accordance with Flynn Applebee's core values and beliefs.
- Respond to and correct all verbal guest complaints promptly.
- Prioritize guest contact, completing required table visits per Flynn standards.
- Maintain departmental inventory levels.
- Ensure product preparation and presentation meet company standards by performing line checks.
- Effectively schedule employees to meet sales demands.
- Maintain effective safety and security programs.
- Promote and lead restaurant organization, cleanliness and sanitation.
- Perform routine maintenance and report needed repairs to the General Manager/Area Director.
- Promote quality recruitment and referrals of potential team members and management candidates.
- Promote Flynn Applebee's training procedures for new managers.
- Maintain a trained staff through orientation, individual training, meetings, and implementation of company policy.
- Participate in constant employee development using One‑on‑One and performance documentation.
- Assess employee efficiency and provide regular feedback.
- Monitor acceptable performance and document situations requiring disciplinary action.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, practices, and procedures.
- Control cost in assigned department.
- Comply with local, state and federal laws, regulations and guidelines.
- Drive bi‑weekly/weekly food and liquor inventories at the AD/GM’s request.
- Prepare and submit accurate daily paperwork.
- Ensure sanitation standards meet or exceed Health Department and Flynn Applebee’s standards.
- Act as a role model for managers and employees.
- Develop self on all store‑related technology.
- Be willing and able to work in all positions and assist in a team member position as needed.
- Use the Management Development Program for continuous growth of leadership skills and proficiencies.
- At least 2-3 years of restaurant management experience.
- Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol certifications a plus.
Assistant Managers are paid $20.98 to $27.27 per hour ($60,000–$78,000 annually based on a 50‑hour work week). Potential for monthly bonus, as applicable. Benefits include competitive wages, profit sharing/bonus, medical/dental/vision coverage, 401(k) with match, paid vacation, and paid sick leave.
Physical Standards- Work various shifts, including weekends.
- Stand and mobilize well‑paced for up to 10 hours.
- Safely lift pots, pans, glassware, boxes, etc. up to 50 pounds.
- Read and write to facilitate communication; possess finger and hand dexterity for small tools.
