Industrial Account Manager - Sacramento, CA
Field-based
As an Industrial Account Manager, you’ll be part of our field‑based Sales team and will:
- Manage, grow, and develop a sales territory with a matrix of distribution customers supporting Stanley Black & Decker industrial solution brands:
DeWalt, Stanley, Lenox, Proto, Irwin. - Demonstrate the value of our full product portfolio and services by identifying target opportunities, running product trials, and providing customers with cost‑savings analysis reports.
- Identify end‑user applications to provide the most cost‑effective product recommendations that improve customer economic efficiency in sawing operations.
- Support customers with ongoing sales service, including sales analysis, inventory control, and promotions.
- Manage administrative aspects and timely reporting for all territory management areas: expense management, paperwork, forecasts, gap plans, upside opportunities, and other leadership requests.
- Motivate distributors and keep sales personnel focused on technical services as a key value‑added service.
- Create and present a value‑based communication method with distributors and end users.
- Solve end‑user problems through troubleshooting, minor repairs, alignment, and calibration of equipment, and product performance trials to achieve optimum performance.
- Travel overnight within the territory as required.
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a related field, or 5+ years of equivalent trade experience in a shop environment.
- 2+ years of direct sales experience in industrial sales is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
- Technical and mechanical ability to work with tools and machines.
- Proficiency with or another CRM is preferred.
- Demonstrated time‑management skills and ability to set priorities.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, electric, pneumatic, and mechanical systems is preferable.
- Ability to develop and present programs to both customers and the sales organization.
- Fluent in Spanish is a plus.
Compensation:
Base pay range in California is $75,000‑$92,000 per year, plus a sign‑on payment may be provided. Salary may vary based on market location and experience.
