Vertex Pharmaceuticals seeks a Pain Territory Account Manager to build and maintain relationships with hospital decision-makers and healthcare professionals in the Bakersfield area, promoting JOURNAVX for acute pain treatment. The role involves managing 15-20 institutional accounts, navigating formulary processes, and driving sales performance across assigned territories.
Responsibilities- Establish and maintain professional relationships across multiple hospital system layers including medical staff, pharmacies, and formulary decision makers
- Develop expertise on JOURNAVX clinical attributes and educate healthcare professionals on appropriate product use
- Navigate formulary processes and deliver value content to secure product inclusion on formularies and protocols
- Develop strategic account plans identifying business opportunities and patient-focused solutions for growth
- Collaborate with field and headquarters colleagues to align business plans and share best practices
- 5-7+ years biotech sales experience; hospital/institution product launch experience highly desired
- 3+ years account management experience with existing institutional relationships
- Demonstrated ability to navigate hospital systems and engage formulary management
- Experience implementing inpatient formularies, protocols, pathways, and order sets
- Proficiency with IT systems including Veeva CRM
- Valid driver's license in good standing; must live within territory
$133,600 - $200,400 base
