Financial and Research Analyst – UC Davis Health
$36.83/hr - $50.56/hr
This position will work closely with department leadership to ensure that research investigators, IRB members, staff, and other personnel maintain knowledge of and comply with relevant ethical principles, federal regulations, OHRP guidance, state and local laws, and institutional policies for the protection of human subjects. The position provides comprehensive financial, analytical, and oversight support for research project, endowment, and gift account activities.
It researches complex issues, analyzes data, prepares reports, makes recommendations, develops presentations, and manages the department’s research budgets. The incumbent will also assist with clinical trials and external research for billing analysis and recharges as appropriate, facilitate and manage interdepartmental studies, and support pre‑award activities. A liaison role exists between the research team and the School of Medicine, and the analyst provides research administrative support to the Department of Radiation Oncology when needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or a combination of experience, education, and/or training.
- At least two years of budgeting, accounting, contracts, and grants experience.
- Experience in financial analyses, forecasting, and strategic planning to compile financial data and reports, including budget preparation based on narrative methodological research plans.
- Experience in budget preparation and competency with budget templates.
- Extensive experience using Excel, reporting tools and/or equivalent applications to develop complex spreadsheets and ad‑hoc reports with pivot tables and advanced functions.
- Experience reading study and imaging protocols and understanding the purpose of a study and its associated imaging needs.

The Department of Radiology is a large academic and clinical department within the School of Medicine responsible for teaching and training of residents, medical students, and clinical fellows, as well as conducting basic and clinical scholarly investigations. Radiology maintains substantial research, both basic and clinical trials, and provides services for interdepartmental research studies.
