ResponsibilitiesAs a Skilled CLASS A CDL Laborer/Groundman
, you will support all phases of utility construction for various types of telecom projects. You believe in doing the job right and being the best. And you're up for the challenge.
- Compensation: $28-32/hr based on experience.
- Overtime pay per California labor laws: 1.5 times the regular hourly rate for hours worked over 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a workweek.
- Rest and Meal Breaks:
Paid for rest periods; unpaid meal breaks as per California labor laws. - ‘At-will employment’: your employment with Mas Tec is at-will, meaning either you or the company may terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without cause or notice.
- Schedule:
Full time positions; hours vary based on project needs.
In addition, you will:
- Responsible for various manual tasks such as digging trenches, unloading building materials, and preparing job sites with hand tools like shovels, rakes, and picks.
- Work in outdoor utility construction sites.
- Transport heavy equipment to and from the job site each day.
- Build and maintain aerial and underground cable systems.
- Troubleshoot problems as they arise in the field.
- Learn and train to use various kinds of tools and equipment.
- Safety is a part of your day to day.
- You have a track record of completing work with a high level of quality.
- You have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands‑on approach to your work.
- You are looking for long-term projects.
- You enjoy getting your hands dirty with your team.
- You have a valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
- You want to learn the telecom construction trade to advance your career in Coax Splicing, Fiber Splicing, Directional Drilling, etc.
- You want to make an impact with your local community and enjoy being home daily.
- MOS codes 12K, 12N, 12V, 12W, 21E, 21J, 25P, 91C, 91L, 11B, 1100, 1120, 1316, , 0612, 2T3XX, 2E1XX, 3E2XX, 3E3XX, 9T0XX, BU, UT relate well to this position.
