We are hiring a Lead Carpenter / Multi-Trade Lead to execute small residential projects independently. This role is for someone who can plan, execute, and close jobs without hand-holding. You will be responsible for taking a defined scope, completing day-to-day work on site, maintaining quality, communicating with clients, and finishing projects cleanly and on time. This is not a helper or apprentice role.

- Lead and complete small residential projects (repairs, remodels, punch-list, specialty jobs)
- Plan daily work, sequence tasks, and pick up materials
- Perform hands‑on carpentry and related trades (framing, trim, drywall, basic electrical/plumbing coordination)
- Protect existing finishes and maintain a clean, safe jobsite
- Communicate clearly with clients and the internal team
- Identify problems early and resolve them without drama
- Maintain quality standards without supervision
- Complete punch‑lists and final walkthroughs professionally
- Accurately report job progress, issues, and completion
Required
- 5+ years of hands‑on residential carpentry experience
- Proven experience running small jobs independently
- Strong knowledge of residential construction methods
- Ability to read and execute from plans or written scopes
- Comfortable making decisions on site
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
- Own basic hand tools
- Strong communication and problem‑solving skills
- Able to lift 50 lbs and work on your feet for a full day
Preferred (but not required)
- Multi‑trade experience beyond carpentry
- Experience working directly with homeowners
- Familiarity with California residential building standards
- Leadership or crew‑lead experience
This role is not for candidates who:

- Avoid responsibility when problems arise
- Blame others instead of fixing issues
- Cannot clearly explain past projects they’ve run
Qualified candidates will be asked to complete a DISC assessment through our hiring platform as part of the evaluation process.
Compensation$30 - $45 hourly
