Overview
Electrician Supervisor role at Sacramento County. This is a continuous filing exam. Next filing cut-offs are at 5:00 pm on 1/23/2026 and 2/6/2026. Under direction, supervises, assigns, reviews, and participates in the work of staff responsible for electrical work in and repairs to County facilities; ensures work quality and adherence to established policies and procedures; and performs the more technical and complex tasks relative to the assigned area of responsibility.

- Practices, tools, equipment, and materials used in the electrical trade
- Installation, operation, and maintenance of electrical equipment, apparatus, and instruments
- Laws, rules and standards pertaining to electrical construction and maintenance
- The hazards involved in working around energized lines and equipment
- Standard safety practices as prescribed by applicable safety regulations

- Select, supervise, train, and evaluate staff
- Plan, coordinate, assign, and review the work of subordinate staff

Minimum Qualifications
Five years of full-time paid experience as a journey-level electrician in a commercial and/or industrial environment, three years of which must include experience leading electrical staff and assembling estimates/budgets.
Note: A General Building Contractor license will not be accepted as a substitute for the minimum qualifications. If the word “experience” is referenced in the minimum qualifications, it means full-time paid experience unless stated otherwise. Part-time paid experience may be pro-rated to meet total experience requirements.
Criminal History and Background Checks:
The County may access criminal history information on candidates who have accepted a conditional offer of appointment. A fingerprint-based background check will be conducted. The County may also conduct a background check prior to appointment. Background checks may include references, credit checks (where authorized), Social Security verification, license/registration verification, military service information, and driving history.
License Requirement: A valid California Driver License (Class C or higher) may be required lure to obtain or maintain the license may result in personnel action. Disability-related accommodations will be reviewed case-by-case.

Positions are required to comply with applicable regulations and safety orders. Respiratory protection rules and equipment use are included in safety requirements.
- Carry equipment and work in various environments; climb stairs and ladders; bend, kneel, or prone positions.
- Operate in restricted and awkward spaces; color vision to distinguish electrical wiring.
- Normal senses of vision, hearing, and touch for process observation and safety; lift up to 50 pounds unaided, over 50 pounds with assistance.
- Work outdoors in all weather, in loud areas, enclosed spaces, and around machinery; work varying shifts, overtime, weekends, holidays, and non-routine hours.
