About the role
As a Microservice Developer – GoLang, you will make an impact by designing and deploying scalable backend services and microservices in cloud-native environments. You will be a valued member of the Technology & Engineering team and collaborate closely with architects, Dev Ops engineers, and data specialists to deliver high-performance solutions.
Please note:
This role will require an in-person meet and greet at our Cognizant offices or client location.
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using GoLang.
- Build and optimize Cypher queries to extract and manipulate data from Neo4j Graph
DB. - Develop and deploy RESTful microservices in AWS Kubernetes clusters.
- Implement Kafka consumers and producers for real-time data streaming and processing.
- Collaborate with Dev Ops teams to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and container orchestration.
- Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code following best practices.
- Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and performance tuning.

What you need to have to be considered- 8+ years of hands‑on experience in GoLang development.
- Strong experience with Neo4j and Cypher query language.
- Solid understanding of RESTful API development and microservices architecture.
- Experience deploying applications in Kubernetes environments.
- Experience with Kafka for message consumption and stream processing.
- Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker.
- Proficiency in cloud platforms, especially AWS.
- Good understanding of software engineering best practices including unit testing and version control (Git).
- Knowledge of security best practices in API development.
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Experience with Graph
QL and integrating it with microservices. - Exposure to observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Ability to mentor junior developers and contribute to technical leadership.
- Experience working in fast‑paced, cross‑functional teams.

Salary and Other CompensationThe annual salary for this position is between $81,337 to $141,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
