What You Will Do- Load, unload, and move materials from storage to staging sites and/or designated areas per each sales ticket.
- Use work orders and verbal instructions to assemble materials and containers which need to be picked, moved, or staged.
- Collect and pick all materials included customer orders using the pick ticket.
- Package merchandise for shipment to ensure maximum efficiency and reduce damage during the shipping process.
- Properly wrap, label, and mark material for easy identification and loading.
- Use Eclipse to confirm picking and staging of materials, ensuring proper piece count for drivers and customers.
- Deliver orders to customer job sites or other requested locations while adhering to all safety procedures.
- Load materials onto vehicles and properly secure cargo.
- Unload incoming vehicles, prepare necessary receiving documents, and receive the materials.
- Document shipments and changes in inventory using Eclipse.
- Clean work areas, machines, and equipment on a routine basis.
- Safely operate all the necessary equipment in the work area. Operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
- Count, weigh or measure incoming or outgoing items to compare identifying information and variety against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records; examine incoming shipments for damage or shortages and correspond with purchasing.
- Perform regular counting of inventory, including running off wire and inspecting items for damage.
- Communicate when supply inventory levels are low.
- Other duties, as assigned.
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D), or 2-4 years of related warehouse experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two to four years of experience in a related warehouse or distribution environment preferred.
- Knowledge of automated or computerized system operation.
- Data-entry, reporting, and recordkeeping skills.
- Knowledge of safety practices, and wears PPE as assigned.
- Ability to operate hand tools including wire cutting equipment.
- Ability to operate a forklift and other material handling equipment. Must be Forklift Operation Certified after hire.
- Knowledge of cargo securement techniques, chains, binders, straps, ropes, knots, plastic wrap, and cargo dunnage used.
- Strong mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, including fractions and decimals.
- Must be able to read and interpret invoices and packing slips.
- Strong communication skills both orally and in writing. Able to present information to management, customers, vendors, employees, and the public.
- Problem‑solving skills including collecting and presenting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions to solve practical problems where only limited information and standardization exists.
- Able to bend, stoop, lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds, unassisted.
- Stand and walk continuously throughout an 8‑hour shift (up to 100% of the time).
- Climb ladders safely, work in dusty and dirty conditions; handle and store hazardous materials; clean and maintain a safe working environment.
