DescriptionHighly skilled workers in the Electrical/Instrumentation craft who perform at or above a Journeyman level, including removal, repair, and installation of electrical components, electrical systems analysis and diagnosis, advanced troubleshooting, and systems/process optimization. Employees may mentor or train other electrical employees. The primary focus is safe production with minimal supervision.
- Perform removal, repair, and installation of electrical components and systems; analyze and diagnose electrical issues; troubleshoot advanced systems; optimize processes; mentor or train other electrical workers.
- Complete routine and non-routine repairs and construction safely.
- Perform preventative maintenance, including installation, repair, and troubleshooting of industrial electrical and instrumentation equipment (e.g., substations, power distribution systems, switch gear, motors, motor controls, process controls, instrumentation, pneumatic equipment).
- Have strong knowledge of maintenance and troubleshooting of AC/DC drives, PLCs, overhead cranes, management control systems, calibration of field transmitters/transducers, weigh scales, and low/medium voltage equipment.
- Perform installations and renovations in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Follow SOPs, participate in safety and environmental activities, and correctly use plant and equipment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of an approved Electronics, Electrical, or Instrumentation program, OR
- At least four (4) years of experience in industrial electrical and/or instrumentation repair and maintenance, OR
- Associate's degree or Trade School Certification in a related field and two (2) years of relevant experience.
- Experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical circuits and equipment; ability to interpret technical manuals, prints, and schematics.
- Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Own or be able to obtain the required personal tools within 90 days of hire.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills through academic, practical, and assessment standards, including safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Experience with VFDs, PLCs, and HMIs.
- Experience working with low and medium voltages.
- Experience with AC/DC controls and instrumentation devices.
- Proficiency with diagnostic electrical test equipment.
Ability to understand and apply verbal and written instructions in English, communicate effectively, and work in stressful environments. This is a safety-sensitive role, requiring work in manufacturing environments with potential hazards, including extreme temperatures, moving parts, and chemicals. The role involves physical activities like climbing, working at heights, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The position requires working rotating shifts in a 24/7 operation, with mandatory PPE and compliance with safety standards.

The estimated pay range is $30.00 - $41.00/hour
