Salary: £49,000 - 59,000 per year
Requirements:- Commercial experience developing embedded software in C/C++.
- Strong embedded Linux development experience.
- Knowledge of Linux kernel concepts, user space, device trees and embedded SoC platforms.
- Experience working with Arm-based embedded systems.
- Understanding of embedded debugging and hardware integration.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- A genuine interest in learning new technologies.
- Desirable:
Experience with Yocto or custom Linux distributions. - Desirable: RTOS and bare‑metal firmware development.
- Desirable:
Python, C# or another scripting/programming language for automation or tooling. - Desirable:
Experience with embedded communications protocols. - Desirable:
Knowledge of DSP, state machines or embedded algorithms. - Desirable:
Familiarity with hardware interfaces and interpreting electronic schematics. - Desirable:
Experience working on safety‑critical, industrial, defence, medical or advanced technology products. - All candidates must be eligible for UK eyes only security clearance.
- Designing and developing embedded software using C/C++.
- Developing applications on embedded Linux platforms and Arm-based processors.
- Working with RTOS and bare‑metal microcontroller systems.
- Supporting hardware bring‑up, board integration and system debugging.
- Developing and maintaining device drivers and low‑level software.
- Optimising system performance and resolving complex software issues.
- Working closely with electronics and FPGA engineers during product development.
- Producing high‑quality technical documentation and following software engineering best practices.
- Contributing throughout the full product development lifecycle from concept through to release.
