Aboutthe Role
We are seeking a dynamic Advanced Supplier Quality Engineer to lead supplier engagement and drive excellence in quality and process development. This role is pivotal in ensuring robust APQP execution, process implementation, and proactive problem‑solving across our global supply base.
You will act as a strategic partner to suppliers and internal teams, leveraging data‑driven insights and advanced quality methodologies to deliver world‑class performance. Key Responsibilities- Supplier Capability Assessment:
Plan and execute evaluations of potential global suppliers to ensure manufacturing readiness. - APQP & PPAP Leadership:
Review and approve supplier quality plans and submission requirements using industry‑standard methods. - Critical Characteristics & Process Controls:
Define part‑specific requirements and ensure robust process controls. - Cross‑Functional Liaison:
Serve as the primary link between Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, and suppliers to resolve quality issues and provide technical expertise. - Structured Problem‑Solving:
Lead root cause analysis and implement timely, effective solutions using proven methodologies. - Supplier Development:
Drive continuous improvement through workshops, training, and technical assistance at supplier sites. - Qualification & Certification:
Oversee component qualification and certification processes for selected suppliers. - Audits & Performance Monitoring:
Conduct technical reviews and audits of supplier processes and quality systems, ensuring compliance and performance improvement.
- Experience in Manufacturing or design in one or more of the following: machined parts, bearings, ferrous castings, die castings, plastics, rubber, powder metal, extrusions, or stampings.
- Proficient in print reading, interpretation, and part measurement. Knowledge of GD&T, gage design, and tolerance analysis. Familiarity with statistical quality control, DOE, and tools like Minitab.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities. High analytical capability for problem‑solving and decision‑making. Ability to prioritize and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to travel globally as desired.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or 10+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
