CLASSIFICATION:
Client Service Manager (Mobile Response and Stabilization Services) 3rd Shift

Pay Range: $60,313. annually (+ $2.50 shift premium, $3.25 Fri-Sun, $5.50 Holiday)

Under the general supervision of Mental Health Supervisor and Site Program Supervisor (Mobile Response and Stabilization Services, MRSS), provides mental health services as a member of a mobile, community-based crisis intervention team to residents of Saginaw County. Serves all target populations including adults with mental illness, youth with emotional disturbance, individuals with developmental disabilities, and individuals with co-occurring substance use disorders.

In addition, provides crisis intervention services within community settings such as schools, adult and youth foster care homes, private residences, and others, with the purpose of assisting those experiencing a mental health crisis and/or who may need assistance accessing ongoing mental health services. Provides (via telehealth or in-person contact) urgent screening, short-term clinical intervention, crisis stabilization, and safety/support planning with the goal of diverting hospitalization or legal involvement when appropriate.

Works as a member of a multi-departmental group with SCCMHA Crisis Intervention Services, Central Access and Intake and Care Management with shared performance goals related to access, consumer satisfaction, and risk management. Coordinates with adult and youth mental health service providers to ensure consumers may access the most appropriate level of care in an outpatient setting. Provides consultation to law enforcement and co-responds to crises as appropriate.

Available for assignment to the schedule seven (7) days per week, overnight (from 10 PM-8 AM), including holidays. This position will be knowledgeable about and actively support culturally competent recovery-based practices; person-centered planning as a shared decision-making process with the individual, who defines his/her life goals and is assisted in developing a unique path toward those goals; and a trauma-informed culture of safety to aid consumer in the recovery process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Respond to any non-imminently life-threatening psychiatric or behavioral symptoms that are disrupting a consumer’s functioning or the family system by providing immediate intervention to assist in de-escalation and stabilization of the presenting situation.
  • Provide crisis intervention for consumers in crisis which may include suicidality, emotional dysregulation, family interpersonal conflict, youth noncompliance with parental/identified guardian’s directives, substance use, emergency shelter, domestic violence, or other psychosocial issues.
  • Respond to emergency phone calls (via the MRSS or 24-hour crisis telephone lines) from community agencies, consumers (youth, families, and adults) to help alleviate mental health crises.
  • Utilize crisis de-escalation techniques with an awareness of the safety of self, other clinical staff, and consumers in the environment.
  • Complete assessments and interventions that may be provided in the office or in the community as the situation warrants.
  • Mobile Response and Stabilization Services are available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, with weekends and holidays included. Staff should demonstrate a high level of flexibility in available work hours, with no specific work schedule guaranteed. The function of the program necessitates a strong team adherence to standards of attendance. Short-notice time-off requests are especially disruptive and, to the greatest extent possible, use of Paid Time-Off (PTO) must be arranged in advance.
  • Function as a member of a triage team providing urgent screening and intervention with the goal of diverting inpatient psychiatric hospitalizations and youth incarceration when appropriate.
