About you and the role

Dow has an exciting position for a Solution Specialist located in Midland, MI or Houston, TX.

As a Solution Specialist, you will own and manage a small portfolio of digital solutions and systems, guiding them through their full lifecycle – analysis, design, implementation, adoption, optimization, and end‑of‑life retirement. Your work will deliver advanced functional and business capabilities that accelerate Dow's digital transformation.

You will collaborate with a multi‑disciplinary IT team – including analysts, designers, developers, and support specialists – to deliver innovative, user‑centric solutions. A key part of your role is to gather and analyze data to define functional and technical requirements, with a strong focus on experience, simplification, automation, efficiency, and reliability. You will also oversee development and adoption of solutions leveraging best‑in‑class mobile, web, desktop, and cloud technologies, while identifying opportunities for digital innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Requirements Analysis:
    Understand key business drivers to explore, analyze, and map business and functional requirements.
  • Experience Mapping:
    Translate user journeys and stories into solutions that enhance employee and customer experience (EX/CX).
  • Solution Lifecycle Management:
    Drive end‑to‑end lifecycle – design, architecture, integration (buy vs. build), development, testing, and compliance with corporate standards and security policies.
  • Adoption & Support:
    Support implementation, user adoption, and define supplier/team support models.
  • Performance Management:
    Establish controls, KPIs, and measures for solution performance and reliability.
  • Integration & Optimization:
    Coordinate with Solution Managers and Business Process Managers for end‑to‑end process integration.
  • Roadmap Development:
    Define improvement and innovation roadmaps; assess resources, technology, and investment needs.
  • Team Support:
    Assist senior Solution Managers with workload analysis and capacity planning.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems using technical expertise and sound judgment. Strong communication skills to explain complex concepts and provide informal guidance to new team members.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E5 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant OR a minimum 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
