About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Supervising Attorney to lead our Saginaw Office team. This role combines hands‑on legal representation with mentorship and leadership, guiding attorneys and advocates to deliver high‑quality, client‑centered legal services.

You will collaborate with organizational leadership to strengthen our legal strategies, uphold compliance standards, and advance equity and justice throughout the region.

Key Responsibilities

    • Foster a positive, collaborative, and mission‑driven office culture.
    • Oversee and review casework to ensure excellence and consistency.
  • Client Advocacy
    • Maintain a manageable caseload and co‑counsel with staff on significant cases.
    • Identify and pursue opportunities for systemic advocacy and community impact.
  • Compliance & Reporting
    • Ensure compliance with grant and funding requirements.
    • Prepare necessary reports and documentation for funders.
  • Community Engagement
    • Represent LSEM in bar associations, legal services networks, and community partnerships.
    • Build collaborations that strengthen access to justice across our service region.
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (JD) and admission to the Michigan Bar.
  • Minimum 5 years of trial or litigation experience in district, circuit, or federal court.
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, mentoring, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, civil rights, and social justice.
  • Compelling overall compensation package.
  • Salary commensurate with experience.
  • Medical, disability, and life insurance
  • Paid vacation, holidays, and personal time
  • Student loan repayment assistance
