Nurse Practitioner - Neonatology

Overview

Neonatal Nurse Practitioner in a Level III NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) providing specialized care for newborns in collaboration with doctors and the health care team. New graduates are encouraged to apply, and mentorship will be provided.

• Help take care of newborns in partnership with doctors and other health care team members.
• Be part of important deliveries and perform special medical procedures for newborns.
• Assist in making decisions about patient care, manage treatments, teach families, and plan care.
• Contribute to efforts to improve care quality and use research to guide practice.
• Work in a supportive environment as part of the care team with important roles.
• Support various pediatric specialties, including surgery, heart care, and brain care.
• Participate in special training programs for new graduates.
• Continue education to ensure high-quality care for newborns.

• Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• Board Certified as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP). Other certifications (such as FNP or PNP) are not accepted.
• Current nursing license or willingness to obtain one.
• Two or more years of experience as an NNP is highly preferred, but new graduates are welcome.

• Obtain your DEA license and CSR/CDS license before starting.
• Board Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner certification.
• Current nursing license in Michigan.
• APRNR national specialty certification (APRN).
