Part-Time Sales Teammate at The Buckle, Inc.

The Sales Teammate position’s primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement: “To create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” Sales Teammates perform a variety of sales, merchandising and operational tasks assigned by Store Management (e.g., cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine cleaning of facilities).

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Sales Generation and Guest Service
    • Greet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude and provide legendary service.
    • Answer questions regarding the store and its merchandise.
    • Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on Guest needs and desires.
    • Anticipate and fulfill Guests’ needs by suggesting additional items and creating a wardrobing experience.
    • Demonstrate product knowledge and sales education, sharing that knowledge with the Team.
    • Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices.
    • Achieve personal sales-per-hour, average sales and total net sales goals set by Store Management.
    • Provide legendary service throughout the store in key areas:
      Front 5, sales floor, fitting rooms, and the register area.
    • Help Guests try on or fit merchandise and check out and bag purchases.
    • Prepare merchandise for alterations and be knowledgeable of all exchange and return procedures.
    • Fill out and effectively use the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) daily to accomplish goals.
    • Meet or exceed performance standards in Buckle business builders and guest loyalty initiatives, including fit appointments and Buckle credit card/guest connect.
    • Place special orders or call other stores to locate desired merchandise.
    • Maintain and build good Guest relationships to develop a client-based business.
    • Develop and maintain knowledge of Buckle’s customer service expectations to meet Guest needs.
    • Consistently perform leadership actions and maintain high standards, whether or not the Manager is present.
  • Teammate Recruiting, Training and Development
    • Recognize recruiting opportunities using Jobs & Careers resources, referrals, and teammate recommendations.
    • Create relationships through Guest Loyalty and Guest Preferred programs.
    • Maintain a professional and respectful attitude, fostering a positive floor culture.
  • Visual Merchandise Management
    • Present merchandise to maximize sales and optimize turnover.
    • Stay current on product range and communicate product feedback and ideas.
    • Ensure the sales floor is sized appropriately and new freight is displayed.
  • Operations
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holiday periods based on store needs.
    • Open and close cash registers, balance cash drawers, and handle transactions and deposits.
    • Monitor for security risks and follow Loss Prevention guidelines.
    • Understand and execute POS procedures and policies regarding payments, exchanges and Loss Prevention.
    • Perform merchandising tasks, including handling freight, re-merchandising, displays, price markdowns, and transfers.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and shoppable store; provide feedback to management on merchandise handling concerns.
    • Communicate policy violations and concerns to management in a timely, confidential manner.
    • Understand and apply Buckle’s Code of Ethics and all policies, procedures, and handbooks.
    • Fulfill the mission statement by delivering high-level customer service and contributing to a positive team environment.
    • Special projects and other duties as assigned.
