Foster Care Specialist- Saginaw
Make a Difference in the Lives of Children and Families
Spectrum Human Services is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Foster Care Specialist to provide case management and support services to children, birth families, and foster/adoptive families. In this role, you will help ensure child safety, promote family stability, coordinate community resources, facilitate reunification efforts, and advocate for families through the child welfare and court systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage foster care cases and develop individualized service plans
- Conduct home visits and family assessments
- Provide crisis intervention and ongoing family support
- Coordinate services with schools, courts, healthcare providers, and community partners
- Maintain accurate documentation and court reports
- Transport youth and families as needed
- Participate in court hearings and multidisciplinary team meetings
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Human Services, or a related field
- Experience working with children and families preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and occasional weekends
