Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to assist in coaching the Heritage High School softball team for the upcoming season. This temporary position requires a passion for the sport, a commitment to student-athlete development, and the ability to work collaboratively with the head coach, players, and parents. The ideal candidate will help foster a positive and inclusive team environment, promote sportsmanship, and encourage skill development among all team members.
Responsibilities- Assist the head coach in planning and conducting practices and games.
- Support the development of individual and team skills through effective coaching techniques.
- Help manage team logistics, including equipment distribution, transportation, and scheduling.
- Communicate regularly with players and parents regarding team expectations, schedules, and progress.
- Monitor student-athlete performance and provide constructive feedback to promote improvement.
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure a safe playing environment for all participants.
- Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship.
- Assist in the organization of team events, including fundraisers and community outreach activities.
- Attend all practices, games, and team meetings as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the head coach.
- Previous experience playing or coaching softball at the middle school, high school, or collegiate level preferred.
- Strong understanding of softball rules, strategies, and techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to the season).
- Must pass a background check as required by school district policies.
- Availability to commit to the entire season, including practices, games, and team events.
- A positive attitude and a passion for mentoring young athletes.
