Overview
Retail Store Management Trainee to join our Team. This role is designed for external retail assistant managers and store managers interested in “fast-tracking” into a Store Management position. Requires a minimum of 1 year retail management experience. Pay ranges from $17.00 to $25.00 per hour. Our retail sales associates can earn up to 8% commission on transactions, which could average an additional $11.64 per hour on top of the hourly rate.
PositionSummary
We are seeking a Store Manager Trainee with a minimum of six (6+) months of Store Management experience. A Store Manager Trainee is accountable for the day-to-day operations of the store and promoting a positive/productive environment. This position will partner with the Store Manager to lead and develop store employees, recruit and retain top talent, maximize financial goals, and manage Customer Relations / Customer Satisfaction.
This position sets the tone for a customer-centric environment. You will analyze store financial statements to ensure financial goals are met, commit to asset protection, promote the business, and target new customer acquisitions. The role involves working with a variety of jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more. Compensation includes hourly pay, commission based on productivity, and a bonus based on store performance;
actual pay varies by location, qualifications, and experience.
- Facilitate a customer-centric environment by engaging customers professionally and addressing issues promptly.
- Monitor and assist in training Pawnbrokers to meet First Cash standards.
- Recruit top talent by sourcing candidates through company-prescribed channels.
- Open and close the store, manage cash drawers and merchandise, and ensure procedures protect assets.
- Ensure asset protection through inventory control, safety procedures, documentation, and securing loans.
- Administer store processes including inventory, loan management, merchandising, store systems, and reporting.
- Evaluate financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal-setting.
- Ensure operating standards meet or exceed First Cash standards.
- Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to maintain value and integrity of loans.
- Complete assigned tasks and training for self-development as requested.
- Communicate clearly with employees to align with store mission and profit objectives.
- Remain up-to-date on product knowledge.
- Assist as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and perform duties for extended periods (standing, stooping, walking, climbing, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to supervise others.
- Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
- May assist customers exterior to the building or retrieve products stored in exterior areas.
- Minimum Age: 18 years old
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- Ability to work in multiple locations as needed.
- Flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Store Manager Trainee will work 45+ hours per week; hours are not guaranteed.
- Computer literate; able to operate POS systems and office machines.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Analytical skills; cash handling experience required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; strong work ethic and business sense.
