Job Description

One of our Clients is seeking a Maintenance Foreman with a strong Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I;) background to support a simple-cycle gas power plant in the Grande Prairie, AB. This individual will serve as the site lead for maintenance operations, bridging operators, vendors, and OEM support to ensure safe and efficient plant performance. This is a hands‑on leadership role in a lean operating environment, requiring both technical troubleshooting expertise and coordination of maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for operators on maintenance‑related issues and elevate as needed.
  • Troubleshoot equipment, controls, and performance issues, focusing on E&I; systems.
  • Act as a liaison with OEMs (e.g., GE) to support remote diagnostics and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to scope, schedule, and execute maintenance work.
  • Determine when work can be handled in‑house versus outsourced and align with vendor management.
  • Ensure maintenance logs, documentation, and site communication are up to date.
  • Oversee contractor activity to ensure timely execution and alignment with job scope.
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (E&I;), or a related field.
  • Experience working in power generation, oil & gas, or industrial facilities.
  • Programming / controls experience: ability to navigate systems (e.g., GE toolbox), understanding of ladder logic, and troubleshooting of control systems, sensors, and unit performance issues.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues effectively to internal teams and external vendors.
  • Ability to operate in a lean, fast‑paced plant environment.
  • Robust coordination and problem‑solving skills.
Nice to Have qualifications
  • Prior leadership or foreman‑level experience.
  • Canadian certifications such as: E&I; (Red Seal) or Electrical certification, Dual certification (Electrical + E&I;).
  • Experience coordinating with OEMs and remote technical support teams.
