The Electrical, Instrumentation, and Control Engineer plays an essential role in developing cutting-edge solutions for industrial equipment. He or she participates in all phases of electrical and instrumentation design, ensuring compliance with standards and collaborating closely with other disciplines. He or she is also responsible for cross-technical support and the implementation of innovative technologies.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Electrical and instrumentation design

Identify project activities, prepare estimates and schedules.

Coordinate and prioritize electrical, instrumentation, and control design outputs, and contribute to their achievement in collaboration with design technicians.

Design systems including: power enclosures, motor control centers, PLC enclosures, industrial network architectures.

Ensure compliance with laws, standards, regulations, and design criteria.

Participate in resolving technical issues.

Verify the compatibility of mechanical structures with electrical requirements.

Select electrical, electronic, and instrumentation components.

Analyze and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications.

Provide technical support to technical writing, production, R&D, and commissioning team.

Exercise a technical governance role for the selected solutions and associated deliverables.

Keep knowledge up to date and integrate technological innovations.

Planning and estimation

Evaluate the required efforts, prepare budget estimates.

Identify key deliverables for his discipline.

Support the Sales team.

Multidisciplinary collaboration

Work as a team with engineers, technicians, and other departments to ensure project consistency and efficiency.

Participate in design and technical review meetings.

Support the After-Sales Service team.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, and Control or equivalent

Member of the Quebec Order of Engineers (OIQ)

5 to 10 years of experience in a similar position

Proficiency in English (intermediate level)

Good knowledge: automated systems, machine safety standards, electromechanics, process instrumentation
