Role Responsibilities
  • Requirements management:
    Translate customer and internal train-level requirements into detailed subsystem designs, define functional and performance specifications.
  • Supplier management:
    Write technical purchasing specifications, manage technical relationships with external suppliers, ensuring QCD commitments.
  • Interface management:
    Lead integration of train subsystems, managing mechanical and electrical interfaces, coordinating with other engineering teams.
  • Validation and verification (V&A):
    Supervise validation at supplier and train levels, conduct design reviews, perform tests, ensure compliance with performance and safety standards.
  • Issue resolution:
    Drive resolution of technical issues arising during design, production, and in-service operation.
  • Documentation and configuration:
    Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, interface control documents, specifications; manage change control and product configuration.
  • Safety and reliability:
    Ensure safety and dependability requirements; conduct FMECA, support safety analyses with the RAMS team.
  • Lifecycle support:
    Provide technical support throughout vehicle lifecycle, including sourcing, production, and maintenance.
Required Qualifications
  • A degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Automobile, Production or Systems Engineering) with 5–8+ years of experience.
  • Experience in railway systems engineering, specifically with rolling stock components for various subsystems.
  • Familiarity with railway-specific processes like validation and verification activities.
  • Knowledge of relevant tools, such as MS Office and DOORs for requirements management.
  • Strong communication skills, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset.
