Position: Senior Pole Line Engineer (Baie-Comeau)
Location: Baie-Comeau

Overview  Sr. Pole Line Engineer
Company  Comm Tech Solutions specializes in providing advanced telecommunication infrastructure services, including tower installations, aerial line construction, underground and civil construction, fiber splicing, MDU/structured wiring, and engineering services.
Responsibilities   Engineering Analysis:
Perform and seal structural analysis for utility poles (wood, concrete, composite) using industry-standard software (e.g., SPIDAcalc, Quick Pole).
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all designs strictly adhere to Ontario Regulation 22/04, CSA 22.3 No. 1, and Hydro One (HONI) distribution standards.
Make-Ready Design:
Review and approve make-ready work (MRW) packages, including guying, framing, and clearance adjustments.
Field

Collaboration:

Work closely with field technicians to validate survey data. Make professional engineering judgments based on high-quality field photos and measurements.
Permitting:
Manage and approve permit applications for third-party attachments with local utilities and municipalities.
Qualifications   Licensure:
Active Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation in good standing with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in telecommunications pole line engineering.
Technical Knowledge:
Deep expertise in Ontario 22/04 regulations, CSA 22.3, and Hydro One (HONI) standards.
Software Proficiency:
Advanced skills in SPIDAcalc, Quick Pole, and working knowledge of AutoCAD/GIS.
Efficiency Mindset:
Proven ability to manage high-volume stamping requirements (e.g., 200+ poles/week) while maintaining safety and quality standards.
