Create and maintain schedules for the client, project manager and project team for design and construction projects.
Prior to project start, develop baseline schedules in coordination with the project manager and project team to logically sequence the scope of work.
Maintain and progress the schedule for each project.
Identify and quantify the impacts of work performed, assess actual progress and provide regular schedule updates.
Incorporate resource and/or cost data into schedules as required.
Liaise with the client and project team to discuss work impacts and resolve issues.
Ensure thorough planning is completed before work begins by consulting appropriate project team members and the client.
Collaborate with project managers to create short-term lookahead schedules and monitor these schedules to determine impacts on the master schedule and help formulate corrective actions to resolve scheduling issues.
Provide information as required on schedule content, revisions or presentation.
Change management – execute the integrated change control process for schedules.
Support project controls specialists and project managers in the change control process and in implementing change control requirements related to scope, cost and schedule.
Stay current with advances in scheduling software.
Assist in tracking change requests, evaluation, processing, approval and implementation.
For projects requiring on-site presence, fully collaborate with the client to meet scheduling and coordination needs.
Reporting: support recurring and ad hoc reporting requirements and actively participate in project report preparation activities.
Other planning-related activities as directed by the project controls manager.
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a construction and/or engineering project environment.
Relevant experience contributing positively to a multidisciplinary team in engineering, procurement, construction and project management (EPCM) environments.
A degree in civil, structural, electrical or mechanical engineering is considered an asset.
A degree or credential in a certified project management program is considered an asset.
Ability to manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines.
Self-directed, motivated and able to multitask.
High-level organizational and planning skills.
Strong ability to build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Computer skills:
Primavera, MS Project, MS Office, Adobe.
Strong leadership, communication and adaptability skills.
Core Competencies
Demonstrates expertise in project scheduling using Critical Path Methodology (CPM) and effective change management processes. Proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple assignments in construction and engineering environments.
