Your Future Role

The Production Overhead (POH) Financial Controller
, within the Finance team, plays an essential role throughout the project life cycle.

You will be the main interface with project controllers and operations controllers to analyze, report, and communicate information, while proposing improvements and/or corrective actions. Your primary responsibility is to monitor the evolution of project overhead costs, identify cost‑reduction opportunities, and flag any cost deviations or productivity issues.

With solid knowledge and experience in financial management of large‑scale industrial/manufacturing projects, and having been involved in bid processes and long‑term project/sourcing controlling, you are our ideal candidate.

Permanent, full‑time position (40h/week) based at our St‑Bruno site on the South Shore of Montreal; requires ability to work within an international, multi‑site, matrix organization. The work environment is hybrid: 3 days onsite and 2 days remote per week.

Your Main Responsibilities

As part of a team of about ten industrial financial controllers, you will:

  • Actively participate in monthly closings (analytical entries, extraction, results analysis, and steering).
  • Analyze monthly expenses and overhead coverage in collaboration with site operational managers.
  • Contribute to forecasts and budget development.
  • Create analysis tools comparing actual vs. forecasted expenses for your scope of responsibility, including:
    • Site overhead costs (by function and cost nature)
    • Overhead coverage through activity
    • Productivity
  • Prepare dashboards for operational teams and presentations for site management committees.
  • Rigorously adhere to the processes, methods, and tools related to these activities.
Your Mission
  • Provide methodical and proactive leadership
  • Meet established standards for quality, productivity, and internal/external customer satisfaction
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and lessons‑learned processes from previous projects

  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to present to senior leadership teams
  • Strong communication skills in both French and English
  • Proficiency in computer and office tools (Microsoft Suite, SAP ERP)
What You Will Enjoy in This Role and at Alstom
  • Working daily in an environment driven by innovative projects
  • Competitive compensation with full social coverage (life, medical, pension) from day one
  • Opportunities to develop new skills and reach your full potential through continuous training
  • Career opportunities aligned with your ambitions within the organization
