Purpose of Role

Reporting to the Chief Geologist, the Senior Geologist will serve as overall manager of exploration sample data management and oversee drilling operations at the Copper World Project, approximately 45 minutes southwest of Tucson near Sahuarita, Arizona.

Accountabilities
  • Greenfield and Brownfield Drilling supervision.
  • Safety inspections and daily kickoff.
  • Project coordination with construction crews for drilling pads earthworks.
  • Management of bidding process, contracts, budget, and resource strategy.
  • Technical: drilling plan design.
  • Drilling advance supervision, geological logging.
  • Core sampling and QAQC insertion strategy.
  • Interaction with external laboratory: contracting, sample requisition, and shipping.
  • Information management and database updates supervision.
  • QAQC analysis and re-assay recommendation when needed.
  • Geological interpretation: lithology, alteration, mineralization.
  • Ore control supervision.
  • Blast-hole logging and sampling.
  • Short-term block model update and reconciliation (Process Plant).
  • Ore and waste polygon creation.
  • Pit wall mapping.
  • Mine operations coordination to ensure high-quality ore material for processing or stockpile.
  • Stockpile management.
  • Department budget management.
  • Surface mapping and sampling.
  • Geologist staff training.
  • Weekly plan presentation updates.
  • Adherence to industry regulations and company health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Support team activities: requesting supplies, safety KPI tracking, company truck maintenance, meeting organization.
  • Availability to travel to the Mason project in Nevada.
  • Presential work in Helvetia office, 30 minutes from Tucson airport, Monday – Friday 8 am–5 pm.
Minimum Qualifications and Education
  • Education:

    Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology, Mining or related discipline, or equivalent.
  • Experience:

    More than 15 years in the mining industry, with at least 7 years in drilling and ore control.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of AcQuire, SQL, Python.
  • Advanced level in Mineplan software.
  • Advanced level in Leapfrog and Imago software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Self‑motivated.
  • Comfortable communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
