We started out as a small operation in California. In May 1969, we acquired four hospitals, some additional care facilities and real estate for the future development of hospitals. RN Cardiac (Department of Corrections Unit) Position Summary

Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.

Responsibilities

• As the primary care RN you will be the primary coordinator of all disciplines to achieve well‑organized patient care, including delegation of position appropriate patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assessment – The RN uses a systematic, dynamic way to collect and analyze data about a patient, the first step in delivering nursing care. Assessment includes not only physiological data, but also psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors as well.
• Updating patient records to accurately show patient condition.
• Care plan – Based on the assessment and problem identification, the nurse sets measurable and achievable short‑ and long‑range goals in collaboration with the patient and family. Implementation of care plan.
• Transition or discharge planning – assesses and coordinates patient’s discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
• Monitoring vital signs, telemetry monitors, and EKG interpretation.
• Ensures patient safety.
• Medication administration.
• Patient/Family education.
• Supervision & multitasking.
