Head Start is a federally‑funded national child and family development program providing comprehensive services for pregnant women, children from birth to age five, and their families. Services promote school readiness, including early education, health, nutrition, mental health, and support for children with special needs. Parent services promote family engagement.

OverviewAs an Early Head Start Toddler Teacher, you will serve as co‑teacher in an outcomes‑oriented team environment and provide safe, healthy, friendly, and developmentally appropriate environments and experiences for infants and toddlers. Motivated teachers improve children’s trajectories, including learning outcomes, living standards, and later academic and professional success.
Responsibilities- Co‑teach with a team in an outcomes‑oriented environment.
- Create, implement, and document curriculum for infants and toddlers.
- Manage child behavior and maintain a safe and healthy classroom.
- Conduct child outcome assessments and support developmental progress.
- Maintain records and complete required documentation.
- Engage and collaborate with families, especially those with limited financial resources.
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Infant/toddler specific education and experience meeting or exceeding the Infant Toddler CDA Credential requirements.
- Knowledge and experience in developmentally appropriate early childhood practice, child outcome assessment, behavior management, and curriculum planning, development, and implementation.
- Commitment to social justice and working with families with limited financial resources.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual abilities a plus.
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
- Physical ability to carry out required tasks.
$23.73 – $28.76 per hour (starting wage $23.73–$28.08 per hour for the first 60 days; increases after probation).
