Respiratory Therapist, Part-Time; night shift

Overview

Northwestern Medical Center (NMC) is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a part-time night shift (7:00 pm – 7:30 am) with every other weekend. The position offers a generous benefits package and shift differentials. Hourly range: $28.32 USD - $41.30 USD + shift differentials.

• Provide therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory procedures under the direction of a provider or by protocols.
• Quickly adapt to technical advances and learn new equipment and procedures.
• Maintain life‑span appropriate care and respond to age-specific needs across neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient groups.
• Incorporate assessment and intervention skills in all interactions and care delivery.
• Communicate with patients, team members, and management; document accurately and timely.
• Adequately manage resources, maintain a clean and orderly environment, and apply best practices and current research.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team and advocate for patient needs.
• Apply teaching and health promotion, assess barriers to learning, and support student experiences and preceptorships where applicable.
• Ensure appropriate use of equipment and adherence to unit-specific competencies.

• Education:
  
  Graduated from an accredited Respiratory Care program; current licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the State of Vermont.
• Experience:
  
  1–2 years preferred. None required.
• Certifications:
  
  BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS.
• Other:
  Knowledge of growth and development principles; ability to assess and interpret data to identify age-specific needs.

• Respiratory Therapy Manager

• Patients and their families, Physicians, public, students and Hospital employees.

• Regularly exposed to blood-borne risks and infectious respiratory organisms.
• Physical demands include good manual dexterity, mobility, and repetitive lifting, pushing, and walking.
• Office and storage space may be limited; extra hours on short notice may be required to maintain staffing.
