Operations Manager at Barry Callebaut Group
Location: St. Albans, VT
Reporting to: Site Manager
Pay Range$ - $ per year
Shift HoursMonday - Friday 7:00am - 4:00pm. This 24/7 facility requires open availability and the ability to work all shifts, including evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and model Barry Callebaut values, practicing servant leadership.
- Direct and manage plant operations for Production and Sanitation.
- Adhere to and promote GMPs and all other food safety requirements.
- Lead and own the Autonomous Maintenance (AM) Pillar.
- Control day‑to‑day operational activities to achieve quality, operational, and financial objectives.
- Establish and monitor plant performance for production and quality standards.
- Support budget definition and execution; monitor cost and effectiveness of production activities.
- Manage infrastructure and assets to ensure hygienic conditions.
- Recommend and implement changes to improve productivity, reduce cost and scrap, and monitor scrap and rework data.
- Take corrective actions in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
- BA/BS in Industrial, Mechanical, or Business Administration.
- 10+ years in manufacturing management, preferably in process‑oriented operations.
- Minimum 5 years managing a significant segment of a large manufacturer or entire operation of a smaller manufacturer.
- Experience with IWS/TPM methodology and Autonomous Maintenance.
- Strong technical background supporting continuous improvement work.
- Background in manufacturing methods and process improvement programs.
- Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements.
- Proven business and people management skills.
- Detailed knowledge of plant and manufacturing functional disciplines.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of quality and safety regulations.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, SAP, and manufacturing applications (e.g., scheduling, CMMS, MES).
