Join Northwestern Medical Center as a Med Surg Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit on a per diem basis, working 12-hour shifts (7p-7:30a and/or 7a-7:30p).

Job Summary

The RN plans and implements nursing care for patients in the Med Surg Unit, following established policies and procedures, providing direct patient care across all age groups and circumstances.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing school with current Vermont RN licensure
• Experience: At least one year preferred
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS required

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and develop care plans
• Administer medications and treatments
• Monitor patient condition and respond to changes
• Collaborate with healthcare team members
• Document care accurately and timely
• Ensure patient safety and comfort

Additional Details

• Reports to Nurse Manager & Director of PCU
• Uses equipment such as patient monitors, IV pumps, and transport devices
• Requires physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., and perform other physical tasks
• Works in a high-stakes environment with exposure to hazards and irregular hours
