Hourly Range: $30.00 USD to $42.42 USD
Job SummaryThe RN provides safe nursing care in a timely manner to patients, within the scope of an RN as defined by the Vermont State Board of Nursing.
Pre‑requisites- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or enrolled in an accredited Direct Entry to Master of Science in Nursing Program preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of two years non‑hospital nursing experience.
- Licensure: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Vermont (VT RN license or Compact State RN).
- Certifications: BLS required.
- Reports To: Department Leader
- Other Contacts: Providers and their staff, patients and their families, hospital staff & community resource staff
- Machinery or Equipment Used: Computer, basic office equipment, exercise equipment, patient monitoring and care and resuscitation equipment
- Physical Demands: Extensive sitting, walking, typing, listening, bending, finger dexterity, standing, reaching, color vision, talking, and eye/hand coordination
- Working Conditions: Medical clinic environment with patients at high risk of cardiac arrest or arrhythmias. Subject to high stress of multiple calls, interruptions, demands and crisis situations
- Required Protective Equipment: PPE as situation and patient condition dictates
- Essential Functions:
- Incorporates appropriate assessment and intervention skills in all interactions and delivery of nursing care including:
- Provides comprehensive patient orientation to ensure patient safety
- Performs admission assessment
- Develops outcome goals based on best practice and patient response
- Evaluates patient's progress through program by use of lab data, ECG interp and patient's exercise tolerance
- Equipment use and management
- Communicates with patients, team members, and management in an accurate and timely manner evidenced by:
- Talks with and listens to patients/team members
- Reports pertinent, concise information
- Complete timely clinical documentation/order entry
- Protects confidentiality of patient/colleagues
