Forward Deployed AI Engineer

This is a forward-deployed engineering role. Instead of sifting through a backlog, you will embed directly with the founders and team, uncover the real business needs, and ship working AI solutions quickly. You will engage with users, iterate in front of them, and translate rough ideas into functional products.

The position expects high autonomy, fast prototyping, strong communication, and a bias toward shipping useful software over perfecting it. It is a hiring-for-talent role focusing on what you can build and how you think rather than years of experience.

• Building and orchestrating AI agents to automate engineering, operations, and marketing work.
• Creating personalized, AI-driven experiences that understand context and respond helpfully.
• Turning data and signals into actionable systems that improve customer experience and marketing effectiveness.
• Building internal tools that give a small team outsized leverage.

• AI / LLM:
  Claude (API + Claude Code), multi-agent orchestration, prompt and skill authoring, voice tooling

• Frontend:
  Next.js, React, Vercel, HTML/CSS

• Forward-deployed instincts: diagnose and ship solutions for real stakeholder needs without a detailed spec.
• Strong communication: explain technical work to founders and non-engineers clearly.
• Bias toward shipping: develop working software first, then optimize.
• Self-direction: thrive with autonomy and ambiguity.

• Strong Python skills and solid full-stack fundamentals across backend logic, data, and functional frontend.
• Engineering discipline: test-driven development, clean Git workflows, and building quality gates.
• Comfortable with shell and Type Script/Node when required; not necessarily expert.
• Data fundamentals: model data effectively, integrate with third-party APIs, and validate impact.

• Hands-on LLM experience: prompting, retrieval (RAG), evaluating outputs, and handling non-deterministic systems.
• Agentic experience: built or operated multi-agent systems, understood orchestration, tool/function calling, and evaluation loops.
• Fluency with AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code and maximizing their output.

• Careful with sensitive, emotional conversations: design guardrails, scope limits, escalation paths, and clear boundaries for AI interactions with customers discussing love and relationships.
• Protect personal data: respect consent, minimize data usage, secure storage, and comply with CCPA.

• Prior forward-deployed, solutions-engineering, founder, or consulting experience with direct user engagement.
• Conversational or voice AI experience (TTS/STT, low-latency streaming).
• DTC e-commerce, subscriptions, or performance-marketing background.
• Familiarity with agentic frameworks (Lang Graph, CrewAI, Auto Gen, or similar) and the Agent Skills pattern.
• Recommendation or personalization experience.
• A portfolio of shipped products, repositories, demos, or AI projects available for review.

• Genuine ownership through direct access to founders and no approval layers.
• Immediate insight into real problems rather than isolated tickets.
• AI-native by default with agent orchestration instead of manual coding.
• Broad impact across the entire business.
