Our client is seeking a CEI Inspector that will provide field observation, testing and measurement services as liaison with project stakeholders that include the client, engineer, contractor, utility agencies, and regulatory authorities during the construction phase of a project.
The Inspector will work within a team environment and assist the Team Leader/Senior Inspector in observing, measuring, testing, and documenting the progress, quality, and quantity of work performed by the contractor. Inspector will be responsible for performing inspection, testing and material sampling services for conformance to plans and specifications for all roadway , structure, and specialty items; mostly comprised of asphalt, earthwork, and concrete elements.
The Inspector shall observe, measure, and record all construction quantities for contractor payment including understanding of mathematical calculations associated with quantity measurement. Measurements shall be in field books for review by the engineer, client, or auditors to ensure they are within contract requirements. The following duties will be required for this position:
- Safe operation of company vehicle
- Working on uneven terrain
- Frequent use of ladders
- Hauling equipment and materials up to 40lbs
- Working in inclement weather conditions
- Working independently
- Repetitive bending/lifting to include overhead
- Nighttime and Weekend work hours may be required
- Working on your feet 8 hours a day
- Overtime work may be required
- Field measurements and calculations
- High School Diploma/GED
- Must have two (2) years of related experience in construction inspection; one (1) year of which shall have been in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection.
- Understanding of FDOT construction project administration methods and processes including but not limited to training in MAC, Blue Beam, Hummingbird and Site Manager programs.
- CTQP Certification in Asphalt, Concrete, Earthwork, pile driving and drilled shafts are required.
