summary
the process engineering technician assists engineering in the on boarding of exciting new programs supporting the mil-aero, defense, and space sector customers through product development, creating & maintaining work instructions, qualification testing, prototype construction, customer return resolutions and process/productivity improvements. This role supports plant safety, product quality, manufacturing/prototype order on-time delivery, and continuous improvement projects within their assigned area of responsibility.
The role requires strong collaboration and organizational skills.
essential job functions
- completion of 1 st build and new product introduction in accordance with customer requirements
- set up and operate equipment such as molding/potting equipment, solder stations, electronic or pneumatic crimp tooling, and test equipment, as necessary for prototype constructions, product development and process/productivity improvements.
- understand and interpret product/work order requirements, product inspection techniques and test procedures
- review of customer data packets: drawings, parts lists, specifications, and manufacturing standards
- support production operators through clarification and demonstration of documentation, process, and procedures
- observe production runs for compliance with proper methods and procedures.
- participate in value stream team, productivity, product quality, safety, and waste meetings/projects
- compile, analyze, and summarize process data
- creation of standard work documentation to support production
- involvement in continuous improvement exercises and projects to meet metric expectations
