OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our clinical team. This role supports the delivery of medically prescribed, goal-oriented therapy under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA provides high-quality care that promotes patient independence, fosters strong relationships with patients and families, and contributes to the success of the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver skilled therapeutic treatments, including pain management and functional restoration through modalities such as heat therapy, ultrasound, and structured exercise programs.
- Monitor and document patient responses to therapy, reporting changes promptly to the supervising Physical Therapist and clinical team.
- Support the development and execution of individualized, goal-based care plans.
- Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation in accordance with agency standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care and participate in team meetings, in-service training, and QAPI initiatives.
- Adhere to infection control protocols, HIPAA regulations, and agency policies, ensuring patient safety and confidentiality.
- Contribute to a collaborative and professional work environment, supporting new staff orientation and demonstrating clinical accountability and teamwork.
- Current, active PTA license in the state of practice and in good standing
- Minimum of six months of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant in a multidisciplinary setting preferred
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered, safe, and compassionate care
- Ability to work effectively within a healthcare team and manage time to meet productivity standards
This role involves patient care in private homes, assisted living facilities, or clinical settings. Candidates must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds, assist with patient transfers, and travel throughout the service area daily. The position involves routine exposure to potentially infectious materials; adherence to infection control procedures and use of PPE is required.
