Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for Aircraft Systems Mechanic Level 2/3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our E-2D Manufacturing and Production Organization. This role will be located on site in Saint Augustine, Florida.

This role is for a hands‑on person with great attention to detail, top focus on quality and the ability to interface with multiple teams.

Essential Functions
  • Troubleshoots, repairs and services aircraft and engine systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints.
  • Assemble and install hydraulic systems.
  • Conduct diagnosis of malfunctions.
  • Perform maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re‑assembly or adjustment of various aircraft systems in accordance with technical specifications, engineering instructions.
  • Able to obtain half & full‑face respirator certification.
  • Daily usage of manufacturing shop controls and systems.
  • Use of appropriate PPE when working on the shop floor.
  • Recommend and implement continuous improvement activities in production methods, equipment performance and team effectiveness.
  • Work and communicate over ambient noise.
  • Work in a variety of work spaces/positions. Work spaces may include but are not limited to small, enclosed spaces, awkward, and elevated spaces. Positions may include bending, twisting, kneeling, crawling, ascending/descending ladders, and/or working overhead.
  • Ability to work flexible, changing shifts, including weekends.
Potential Shifts
  • 6 am - 4:30 pm (M‑Th 4x10s)
  • 4:30 pm - 3 am (M‑Th 4x10s)
  • 2 am - 12:30 pm (M‑Th 4x10s)
  • 6 am - 6:30 pm (Fr‑Sun 3x12s)

This role will be filled as either a level 2 or level 3 Aircraft Mechanic based on the relevant experience defined below.

Basic Qualifications Level 2
  • High School Diploma or GED and 2 years' experience with engine/hydraulic parts, assemblies, components, and systems in an aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing and/or maintenance environment.
  • Must be able to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 25 pounds, and working overhead.
  • Must be able to access small, confined spaces and work in an enclosed environment.
  • The ability to pass Medical/Respiratory Exam.
  • The ability to work any work schedule.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Secret DOD clearance in a reasonable amount of time as required by the business.
