Electrical Assembler I
Amphenol CIT, headquartered in St. Augustine, FL, is a leading designer and manufacturer of high‑performance wire, cable, and medical devices. We provide interconnect solutions to aerospace, military & defense electronics, space, medical, test & measurement, and industrial industries.
Under general supervision, the Electrical Assembler I is responsible for performing simple cable assembly operations to build high‑quality cables, wire harnesses, and integrated products for the aerospace industry.
Salary$15 per hour, rising to $17 per hour after certification.
Essential Job Functions- Build simple point‑to‑point wire/fiber cables following drawings and instructions to a high level of quality and productivity.
- Demonstrate proper use of basic hand tools: heat gun, hand crimpers, power screwdriver, solder pot, ruler, pinning machines, and automatic wire strippers.
- Identify wires using the basic color code sequence.
- Complete all necessary paperwork related to the building of cable assemblies.
- Apply knowledge acquired from Assembler I training.
- Maintain a clean, organized workstation free of hazardous materials.
- Follow all factory safety procedures and guidelines.
- Perform additional duties as required by management.
- Apply basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) with all units of measure.
- Track and record production results and prioritize tasks to ensure on‑time completion.
- Exhibit physical dexterity, good vision, eye‑hand coordination, and color discrimination.
- Use production tools and equipment safely.
- Maintain integrity and teamwork in all duties.
- Respond appropriately to audible alarms for evacuation and equipment.
- Communicate in English (written and verbal).
- Meet physical demands: standing, sitting, walking, reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing/pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds independently, and moving up to 100 pounds with mechanical aids; work at heights; operate mobile equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: 1 year related experience.
- Ability to measure accurately with a ruler or tape measure.
- Previous soldering experience.
- Working comprehension of English, with workplace‑level grammar, composition, oral and written communication skills.
1st Shift.
Work EnvironmentClean facility with machinery, equipment, processes, and chemicals. Workers must wear Personal Protective Equipment (hearing protection, safety glasses, safety toe shoes, hand protection) as required. Safety and environmental policies are in place to protect employees and the environment.
